Must Like Cats, Must LOVE Hockey!

Sounds like a personal ad tagline, huh? LOL...

Seriously, though, anyone who knows me knows that I enjoy these two things a whole lot and anyone who hangs out with me has to realize that I talk about these two things in abundance: Cats (I have two "furkids" myself) and hockey (obsessed with the sport!).

Actually, this area is more of the potential "FAQ" section of the site. Anything that's asked via email, I'll answer and post up here in regards to anything about the site, my qualifications, me, the causes I support, etc. Well, I'll answer ALMOST anything, let's put it that way.

For starters, I'll give you the following examples...

Websites and Computers

Q: What are your credentials to do a website?

A: I have an AS in computer website design. I do not consider graphic design a part of this AS due to the fact that I'm not skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I do not have the patience nor the time to put into learning it extensively. I have been working in Macromedia Dreamweaver for five years now and am currently learning Flash. I have been doing graphics work in Ulead's Photoimpact program for four years and have had my own websites since 1998, the one I've had the longest being "The Road To Anaphe," now at http://www.anaphe.org since June of 2000, created in an effort to keep Sheldon Kennedy's story readily available in its entireity. It is currently the only fansite/resource site for him. I'm notorious for doing unique websites, or, websites that do not have any competition. I'm a fairly fast typist and type up lots of my books and stories, so I'm skilled with Microsoft Word and know my way around a keyboard very well. I also do movies using Adobe's "Premiere" program and can present/send work done in that program upon request.

Q: How'd you get into doing websites?

A: I got into website creation by sheer fluke, actually. It began with a simple personal website (I guess TVL version 1.0) and went from there. I moved the sites to Homestead, with Anaphe straddled between Homestead and Angelfire. With the help of my dynomite website teacher, Mr. A, I was able to learn the ins and outs of Dreamweaver MX ahead of the class and get both of my sites (I only had 18/28 and TRTA at the time) onto their own server, own domain and ultimately all in one place. I'm in debt to Mr. A for that one and Mr. A, if you ever need someone to come in and talk to your class about websites, all you have to do is ask!

More to come as the mailbag fills up!
